An auto torque bias differential (ATB differential) is a type of limited-slip differential (LSD) that automatically distributes torque (power) between the wheels based on traction conditions. It is designed to improve handling and traction without the need for manual intervention, making it particularly useful for off-road or high-performance vehicles.

HOW IT WORKS

Hi Range 4x4 Driving: On unsealed road conditions, the differential allows the wheels to rotate at different speeds, which is ideal for smooth cornering.

Low-Traction Situations: When one wheel loses traction (like on ice, mud, or gravel), the ATB differential automatically shifts more torque to the wheel with more grip, reducing wheel spin and maintaining momentum.

HARROP E LOCKER
MANUAL DIFFERENTIAL LOCKER

A Harrop ELocker is a manually selectable locking differential designed to provide maximum traction when needed. Unlike an ATB, which automatically biases torque, the ELocker allows the driver to engage or disengage full differential lock at the push of a button, making it ideal for extreme off-road conditions.

HOW IT WORKS

Hi-Range 4x4 Driving: When disengaged, the differential functions like an open diff, allowing normal wheel speed variation for smooth cornering on unsealed roads.

Low-Traction Situations: When traction is lost, engaging the ELocker forces both wheels to spin at the same speed, providing 100% torque to both wheels, ensuring maximum grip on mud, rock, or deep ruts.

  • Provides full traction on demand for extreme off-road conditions.
  • 100% mechanical engagement- via electrical switch located on the vehicles dash board. Please note 24-12v reducer maybe required in some models of 4x4 truck.
  • Ideal for deep mud, rock crawling, or steep inclines.
